Not missing the walk even while on tour really makes me feel proud. Yesterday I was in Mumbai and when I woke up from sleep, I saw a few people walking in a nearby park. This immediately prompted to get up from the cosy bed and within five minutes I was in the park. This experience has made me think that we need to find more and more ‘excuses’ for doing the right things in life instead of finding excuses for avoiding the action. Can we apply this in Personal Finance? I believe the answer is an unqualified ‘Yes’.
Every month, we can find reasons for not saving and investing. The reasons can be plenty like festivals, school fee, college fee, major repairs for your vehicle and so on. These reasons can become excuses for not saving and investing. You can find one ‘excuse’ for saving and investing and that can be your Financial Mentor’s advice. You know which is better.
You can find excuses for not appointing a Financial Planner. The common excuse given is that the person’s income is too small. You can also appoint a Financial Planner with the ‘excuse’ that you want to have a great future and retire early to pursue your other interests. Is there any need to discuss which is better for you?
You can give the excuse that no one taught you the Power of compounding or find an ‘excuse’ to read to books on Personal Finance or attend programs like ‘Path to Prosperity’. Once you understand the power of compounding which has been hailed by even great geniuses like Albert Einstein, you will find more ‘excuses’ to learn and implement the Power of compounding.
Actually the crux of the matter is whether you want to find ‘excuses’ for prosperity or mediocrity. I am optimistic that all of us prefer ‘excuses’ for prosperity. If you are beginner to Personal Finance, visit Personal Finance section and read all the articles. If you are an experienced person, become your Financial Mentor’s pet. The one simple thing you need to do for this is to find ‘excuses’ for doing the various actions suggested by him.
