
For the last twelve days, I am spending most of my time in a hospital at Chennai attending to my mother. In the process, I am getting more clarity on the need to really take care of one’s health in the life journey to be Rich. When someone is in the hospital, the time and energy of the patient as well as the kith and kin are needed. Also, everyone goes through several moments of anxiety and that saps the energy.
I have not slept even to the extent 25 % of the usual time I sleep. Of course, the satisfaction that my mother has recovered well is more relevant than anything else. But, I am looking at this from the point of view of several young people and their efforts for prevention of health disorders.
Every morning as I do my walk, I pray silently to the supreme intelligence that more and more people should visit hospitals for prevention than cure. These days, there are various health checkups such as master, executive, diabetic, women and so on. While these are not very cheap but definitely are worth investing since one can address a few health disorders early than late. It may be a good idea to go through such checkups as advised by your doctor.
While in our ‘Life Harmony’ website, I have shared a few specific techniques for better health care, let me talk about a few possible preventive approaches one can use to become healthier:
- How about enjoying a regular walking in the morning as a brisk start to the morning? It is worthwhile investing about 30 minutes for this least inexpensive but a great health care measure.
- Yoga, TAI Chi, or physical exercises may be considered. I am a great fan and consistent practitioner of yoga. There are very many advantages like addressing a few health challenges like diabetes, hypertension etc. as well as in prevention.
- Practicing meditation for 15 to 30 minutes is highly beneficial. We have discussed a few simple techniques like ‘Alpha Meditation’ in our ‘Life Harmony’ website.
- Mudras can be practiced anytime including during journey time as well as during meeting time. What a simple tool taught to me by my great Guru Mr. Vimal Galada?
- Apart from periodical health checkups, can one address any heath challenge without postponing citing the reason of time, which is ridiculous?
- How about trying alternatives like acupressure, EFT, healing? My family members and I are a set of biggest of beneficiaries of such alternatives that are safe and can be used as supplements to the conventional therapies.
- I am beginning to learn using the power of our subconscious mind in healing our body and mind. Many a time, I leave to my subconscious mind to do the healing with 100 % faith. I have also started making requests to the subconscious mind of others to take care of their body and mind. Some of you may be amused by this.
The above is just an illustrative list and you may have more to this list. What is important is the consistency in application with a happy feeling. It is my sincere hope that many can benefit out of preventive health care in their journey to be Rich.
Let us end this on a lighter note. It seemed a person with poor memory talked to his doctor about his challenge. The doctor queried him, “Since how long you have been having this problem?” The patient asked the doc, "Which problem?"
